Why would you want a Portable Baby Bathtub?
A portable bath for baby will enable you to wash baby while travelling in a safe and efficient way. A baby bathtub is essential on any trip away with a baby and a luxury when travelling with a toddler.
There are many types of baby travel baths available, from ones that fit into the shower, foldable baby baths and blowup baby baths. The one you choose should be the one you find most comfortable using and the one that you can fit into your luggage.
If you’re on a road trip, you may want to consider a larger baby bathtub, whereas if you’re trying to fit the bath into your plane luggage, you may want to consider a smaller, blowup infant travel tub.
Best Travel Baby Bath Reviews and Buying Guide
There are many baby travel baths to choose from on the market today. Here are our top recommendations whether you’re looking for the best toddler travel bathtub or travel baby bath.
#1 Munchkin White Hot Inflatable Duck Tub – Best Inflatable Baby Bathtub for Travel (BEST OVERALL)
The munchkin bathtub is one of my favourites. The bath is large enough for an older baby and is suitable for babies of 6-24 months. The bath can also be multipurpose during the day.
I like to fill the duck up with water on the beach and create a paddling pool. The material is non-slip so you’ll have extra peace of mind with safety. The large size also makes the duck comfortable for the baby to enjoy the bath.
Once inflated the bath is 78x48cm and fits into an adult bath and wet room.
Note: If you love this bathtub, why not give it as a gift? My daughter actually received this as a gift and I’m very pleased she did.
#2 STOKKE® Flexi Bath®
The Stoke Flexi bath is foldable to 25/9x3cm to easily fit into a suitcase or backpack and saves time on blowing up a bath or bringing a pump with you. You’ll get good use out of it too with the bath being suitable from newborn-4 years.
The materials used are PP and TPE as well as being vegan and free of BPA. There’s a newborn slide insert that can be bought separately.
This bath also has a colour changing plughole for extra peace of mind on the temperature. There’s also a choice between pink and blue.
#3 DaMohony Baby Inflatable Bathtub
You’ll get used of this one as it’s suitable right from newborn to 3 years. If you want to use the tub from birth, you’ll need to get the newborn insert. There’s a plughole at the bottom for easy fill by tap and easy drain.
The DaMohonty bath is very easy to fold and goes into a compact size. However, if you’re planning on travelling with a baby who needs an insert I wouldn’t recommend this one. Unlike the bath, the inserts often don’t fold and are very large.
#4 Jane Universal Bath Tub (0-5 Years) – Best for Showers
The Jane Universal Inflatable bathtub is the perfect place in the shower at your accommodation. Even if you stay somewhere without a bath, the Jane Universal Bathtub has you covered.
The travel tub measures 60x60cm and it can hold 70L of water. This makes the tub perfect for both babies and toddlers – perfect if you have one of each. For your babies safety, there are 4 suction cups attached to the bath so it doesn’t skid.
If you’re travelling light, the tub weighs just 600g and deflates to easily fit inside luggage. You don’t even have to worry about blowing up the bath as it comes with a pump for easy assembly.
#5 Baby Blooming Lotus Flower Sink Bathtub Seat Mat – Best For Sinks (0-12 Months)
The Baby Blooming Lotus Flower travel bath is perfect for bathing a baby on the go. The non-slip seat fits easily in most sinks. The soft, organic cushion will comfort your baby and support the skin to skin sensation. The bath is easy to dry and machine washable. If you’re going on a road trip with a baby, this could be the perfect option. Weighing just 299g the lotus flower bath is one of the lightest options on the market.
#6 Just4baby Foldable & Adjustable Travel Baby Bather – Best Foldable Baby Bath
The Just4Baby travel bath is perfect for bathing a baby on the go. The bath seat folds down easily to a reasonable size (48x35x7cm) which makes it perfect for road trips or to add into your car seat or pushchair bag on a plane.
The seat fits in most baths, enabling you to use both hands to bathe baby while ensuring they are completely safe and at ease.
#7 EBTOOLS Baby Bathtub – Best Collapsible Bathtub (0-6)
This portable folding bathtub is the perfect choice for a road trip. The bath has a non-slip base and it’s designed with environmentally friendly material with your baby’s health in mind.
Once folded, the foldable bathtub is just 44x51x44cm – perfect for stowing away in the back of a car.
#8 Puji Flyte Compact Infant Bath – Best for Newborns
If you’re going on adventure with your new addition to the family, it’s very important to choose the right compact infant bathtub. The Puji Flyte will cradle and protect baby during the bath, making it both enjoyable for and and reassuring for the grownup.
The bath is designes to fit in sinks and fits in almost any sink. Whatever accomodation you choose, rest assured, you’ll have somewhere safe to bath baby. At 0.6kg and 58.4×19.1×5.1cm, this infant sink bath is one of the smallest and lightest on the market.
#9 Bestway Up, In and Over Inflatable Baby Bath – Best Budget Buy (0-2)
The Bestway Up travel bath is both extremely portable and budget friendly. It comes with a fish temperature thermometer so you can have peace of mind and it also doubles up as a fish toy for your baby or toddler. The bath can also double up as a paddling pool – perfect for a trip to a hot country.
#10 Warme Baby Bath Seat
This durable baby bath seat is perfect if you know you’ve booked somewhere with a sutiable bath and you want to ensure your baby’s safety.
The chair also doubles up as a travel chair for toddlers – perfect if you have a baby and a toddler. At just 45x50x40cm, the portable baby bath seat can be transported easily for your complete peace of mind when bathing your child.
Other Baby Bathing Essentials to Consider
If you’ve made the decision to bring a baby travel bath on your trip, there’s a few other things you may want to consider packing:
A Travel Bath Set
Most accomodation will not provide sutiable baby shampoo and other bathing essentials. Bringing a mini travel set away with you will ensure you have everything you need for the perfect bathtime.
This child’s farm bath set will ensure you have hair and body wash, moisturiser and hair detangler when you return from a day of exploring.
If you have slightly more room to spare, this complete bath set has everything you could ever need, including a thermometer, baby bedtime bubbles, moisturiser and shampoo.
If you want peace of mind that your child’s bath is the correct temperature, there are plenty of options available:
Baby Bath Toys
If you want to keep your child entertained in the bath, you should bring a few small bath toys from home. I often pack bath toys that can be used both on the beach AND in the bath.
